Introduction:
Kidney is an important organ of human body. Human body has two kidneys. Each kidney weighs about 125 grams. Human kidney is about five inches long and three inches wide.
Structure of kidney:
The outer membrane of the kidney is like a woody cover and the inner membrane is constructed like a colon. Each kidney contains nephrons, which are more than 10 million in number.
The nephron is the structural & functional part of the kidney, which reforms blood and cleans water.
Kidney function:
The main function of the kidney is to filter the blood and purify the water in the body. Kidneys purify about 200 liters of blood per day. The kidney's nephrons clean water and remove toxins from microbes, microorganisms and the environment by filtering residual water and substances through the nephrons.
Also, the kidneys remove toxic substances like alcohol, methanol, paracetamol, ibuprofen and other drugs from the body through urine. Therefore, the kidneys are very important for maintaining the health of the body.
Kidney disease:
Kidney disease can be caused by various reasons – such as high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney stones, kidney infections, nephritis and nephrosis etc.
Symptoms of kidney disease may include fever, loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea. Kidney disease can be very subtle or start very mild and cause no symptoms.
Kidney problems can cause the kidneys to stop functioning and pose a threat to most parts of the body.

Proper care is very important for kidney health related problems. All people who are aware of kidney health should follow some useful tips in daily life.

1. Drinking enough water: Drink at least eight to ten glasses of water daily. It helps to reduce the risk of kidney related problems and maintains the body's water level. The need for water can increase due to various reasons, especially diarrhea or vomiting. The demand for water also increases with changes in weather.
2. Eating healthy food daily: Eating healthy food daily is very important in kidney related problems. Eat enough non-vegetarian food every day. It will be best if you can eat enough meat, fish, pulses, fruits and vegetables every day.
3. Avoiding excess salt: To keep the kidneys healthy, excessive salt should be avoided in the daily diet. Because, excess salt is very harmful for kidneys.
4. Regular exercise and weight control: Regular exercise is very important to reduce kidney problems. Just 30 minutes of exercise during the day will be enough. Walking, running, cycling, free-hand exercises etc. are very important for good kidney health.5. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol: Excessive smoking and alcohol drinking can gradually reduce blood flow to the kidneys. As a result, kidney function also decreases. Besides, the risk of kidney cancer also increases. So this bad habit should be abandoned.

7. Control of high blood pressure and diabetes: High blood pressure and diabetes are among the main causes of kidney failure. If these diseases are not kept under control, the kidneys gradually lose their function silently.
8. Be careful about taking medicines: Do not take any medicines, especially painkillers, without knowing the rules or by yourself from the pharmacy without consulting a doctor. Because, it can damage the kidney unknowingly.
9. Stress control: To keep the kidneys healthy, stress must be controlled in all kinds of busyness of daily life and enough sleep should be done every day.
10. Doctor's Advice: Men and women of all ages should be aware of the symptoms of kidney disease. Symptoms of kidney disease include loss of appetite, nausea, decreased urination, watery feet etc. A doctor should be consulted as soon as these symptoms appear.
